Wooden Flower Box made from Pressure Treated Wood or Finnish Pine

Discover our collection of flower boxes made from pressure treated wood and Finnish pine. The pressure treated wooden flower box is crafted from grade A pressure treated wood, ensuring it withstands Scandinavian weather conditions and moisture. If used as a cultivation box for edible plants, it is recommended to install a plastic sheet or waterproof barrier between the wood and soil. The flower box made from Finnish pine does not contain any treatment chemicals, as the natural resin of the pine provides sufficient protection against weather conditions and moisture. The pine flower box is perfect for growing edible plants, such as herbs.

Flower Box as a Planting Base

A flower box can be used to plant flowers, decorative plants, or even edible plants such as herbs. However, before planting the plants, it is advisable to familiarise yourself with the planting and care instructions for each specific plant and ensure that the conditions and growing location are suitable for the plants being planted. When growing edible plants in a durable wooden flower box, it is recommended to install plastic or a moisture barrier between the soil and the wood. You can also use flower pots within the flower boxes.

Reduce Material Waste with Flower Boxes

Our flower boxes are primarily made from surplus materials generated from terrace production. This approach allows us to minimize material waste and reduce the amount of waste produced during manufacturing, thereby decreasing the product’s carbon footprint. Wood, as a renewable resource, is an environmentally friendly choice. It absorbs carbon dioxide during growth and continues to do so as a finished product, making products built from wood long-term carbon stores.

Maintenance and Care

Wooden flower boxes are quite low-maintenance, but with proper use and care, you can extend their lifespan and keep them looking great. A treated wood flower box doesn’t require maintenance during the first year. Once the wood has dried well, you can choose to treat the surface. This can be done with clear or tinted wood oil, or a translucent wood protector. If you want to preserve the natural brown color of the treated wood, it’s recommended to use brown-tinted wood oil or wood protector. If the original color of the flower box has faded significantly, you can also treat the terrace with a different shade, such as gray or black. Due to its structure, Swedish pine doesn’t need surface treatment. Over time, a flower box made from Swedish pine will naturally develop a beautiful gray patina.
